Busy, Busy, Busy

Grandma is back in the nursing home. Her EKG showed that her aeortic valve needs to be replaced but she isnt a good candidate for surgery. Its shrinking or something - I cant remember. Its not the way it's supposed to be anyway, but she's out of the hospital. Still sick, but not bad enough to be hospitalized anymore, which is fantastic!

Montana wants to be in band - play the trumpet, so I need to go rent that this week. That starts next Tuesday. He also is trying out for Central Connections which is Choir, after school 2 days a week for 5th and 6th graders. He's in 5th Grade. They cut that out of the regular school day, so they have it as an extra curricular activity, which is a pain in my backside. I will have to go pick him up a few days a week by 4 pm, which is a bad time as the kids don't get home from the bus until 4 pm. Ughhh - I don't want to go hang around town to pick the other kids up and wait for him. I am thinking I might save money for the taxi - like I said before, we are out in the boondocks - We are probably 14 miles from his school which isnt really far, but just inconvenient. There is another boy who is in 6th grade at the Junior High and he lives in our village, and he is trying out. I was going to see if we could carpool, but I guess he goes to the city library after the choir and his Mom picks him up there when she gets off work. At least that's how it worked for them last year. I don't think I want my son hanging around town. I think that's how kids end up getting in trouble. I think my son would most likely be ok - unless they started messing around or got bored. It's just a lot of temptation for 10 and 11 year olds with nothing to do. It would be easy for the taxi - I think it's around $12 to bring them here from that city, which is a little high, but I will have to see. I hate that we don't live where their school is. It would be so much easier. He is a die hard football fan, and loves wrestling, so my future will be spent at schools and on the road - they play against a lot of towns far away - everything is far away here, lol. At least band is still during school. Art is an after school activity also. It's just not right.

My oldest, Giuseppe who is now an official teenager, didn't join football at school this year. He's in 8th Grade. He is thinking about tennis and golf. My husband told him Golf would be smart - you get to go to all kinds of golf courses for free - they are expensive to play at, and who knows, if you are really good, you might have a future in it. He said that Giuseppe has a good swing - hubby loves golf. Less chance of hurting yourself too. So many kids get hurt in football anymore.

It's nice and cool here today. We had a few really hot and humid days, so this is a real treat. I got to turn off the AC again and open the house up. It's wonderful. Ok, I better go. I have to do some things and get ready to head for town. So much to do and so little time. Oh - I posted my What's Your Price too.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Since my last post, my Grandmother has been in the hospital, three weeks tomorrow. She still has pneumonia and they are on the third antibiotic - this one finally seems to be working. She had fluid in her lungs, around her heart and low sodium. She seemed better a few days and not anymore. I can't stand it. She's just there - she forgets we came to visit. She doesn't say much. She used to love to see me and the kids. I want to cry everytime I go visit. One day when we went she lit up when we walked in, then went to sleep 2 seconds later. She woke up after 10 minutes or so and didn't even remember we had already been there. She told my Mom she wanted to sleep the other day when she was visiting - she never wants my mom to leave. They ran a test - I don't remember what it's called - EKG? Anyway, they ran a test on her heart and should have the results today. They are going to take another chest x-ray tomorrow. I don't think she is going to pull out of this. I really don't. I just had this terrible feeling when they put her in there that she wouldn't come out. I don't want to think that way, but she's not getting better and she looks awful. They say if she does get better she will most likely be wheel chair ridden. Ok - gotta change the subject. I am just too depressed. A lot has been going on and I am ready to run away.

On a happier note, Ariana turned two on Saturday. It's hard to believe my baby is 2!!
Happy Birthday to my Little Angel!!!!

She climbed out of the bathtub today. Ughh!! She is a little smartie. She's counting to 5 now too. They grow so fast!!

Friday, Giuseppe will be 13! Where does the time go! We are trying to decide for sure what we will do. Go out to eat, maybe bowling. The kids started school on Monday. Woohoo! They are enjoying it. Yesterday I was in town for an appointment at 1:10 pm and it was near Montana's school. I saw all these kids walking. I thought what the heck?!?!?! I called the school and found out they were on heat schedule. That's nice!! I was in town - 12 miles from home and they were about ready to get on the bus and head home, where no one was! The elementary school got my daughter in time and held her in the office, Montana was out in front of the school by the third time I went around the block. We got Adelina and raced to the Junior High for Giuseppe. He was actually already on the bus. Someone told him they saw me, so he got off. Thank goodness! I was surprised I didn't get a ticket or run someone over. I was in such a hurry. It really ticked me off - I'm supposed to listen to the radio all day to be sure they didn't change their minds? Bull!! The junior high doesn't have AC - all the other schools do. It was so hot yesterday, I guess it was worse in the building. They get out at 1 today also.

It stormed all night. Now it's humid, hot, cloudy and there is a chance for more. The temps are supposed to be cooler, but with the humidity it's horrible. I am so ready for fall. It hasn't let up - weeks of heat. I am tired of the heat and the AC - I want some fresh, cool air.

I posted my What's Your Price. Finally caught up on that - 2 weeks worth. I want to blog hop - not sure if I can finish. The kids will be here any minute. Will try to come by.

It's been a while. Like I always say, time does fly! My daughter Adelina wanted to get her hair cute and donate it to the Locks Of Love. I had thought about it on more than one occasion, but chickened out - my hair was a little past half way down my back. I finally decided ok - we would do it together. I had 8 1/2 inches cut off and she had 10. I haven't had my hair this length since Junior High - I am 33 years old, lol. My hair is really curly now - without all that hair weighing the curls down. It is nice - just wash, put some mousse in and I am done. I still feel weird without my hair though. Mom, the kids and a lady I know said they love it. Hubby hasn't said one single word. Oh well. I will have to get some pictures up.

School starts 3 weeks from yesterday. The summer had flown past! This past weekend I took the kids to the fair. I even rode the rides with them, and we had funnel cakes. Yummy!!!

On a sad note, my Great Uncle in Washington passed away. I wish we could have gone to the funeral. He is my Grandmother's brother. She is in the nursing home. Her health seems to be failing now. It's all just so depressing. She was acting very strange, not coming out of her room for the activities she usually participates in, eating in her room, getting very winded halfway down the hall, taking her teeth in and out, not putting her glassed on - then they diagnosed her with pneumonia. They thought she had a little seizure last week, and maybe a few mini strokes in recent months. I only hope that when she goes, she doesn't suffer at all. She still looks fantastic for her age. You wouldn't believe she's going to be 85 in November - She's been in the hospital or nursing home since September 25, 2001 after having a stroke. I can remember it so vividly - it was 2 weeks after the tragic day at the World Trade Center and the planes crashing.

Ok, I must move on to a happier topic! I want to thank
Kris and Tea for the wonderful gifts. You ladies are so sweet.

I posted my What's Your Price in the special section I made for it. The link is on the top right. Time for lunch. The kids are getting hungry. Have a good week - will be by soon as I can.
