Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

Tonight: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely after 1am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 43. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

I'm still here - thankfully not floating down the river. We have had so much rain. A lot of farmland has been flooded, sides of the road, some water over roads, basements flooding - it's crazy. Saturday I planted all my violets and pansies, a long with my new Salvia plant and then the storms started. I hope they live and don't drown. The pansies at least are in pots under the overhang, so they should be ok, but the others got drenched. The rain still kept coming into yesterday. That's a long time. Our extended forecast is so pretty though -

Friday:
A 40 percent chance of showers before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. Breezy, with a north wind between 10 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39. North wind between 5 and 15 mph.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. West wind around 5 mph.
Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 47.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 80.
Sunday Night: Clear, with a low around 50.
Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82.
Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 52.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 51.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 74.

I am very ready for the warm sun and temps suitable for taking Ariana on walks and to the park during the day. I am determined to lose a little before summer comes. I don't care if I am ever thin - have always been curvy, but I just want to wear my clothes and not have to buy a new wardrobe. I am about a size or so away from my prepregnancy size (of my fourth child - I will never have the body back from before my first baby,
) and I have been making due with a tiny choice of clothing for a while now. I have bought a few new things, but just can't seem to buy anymore. I have lots of clothes and I want to use those. I am not a good dieter though. Can't pass up my goodies. I will ever give up chocolate, donuts or pizza - but I know if I walk more and get active - more than I am now anyway, I will be able to accomplish my goal. I am still incorporating lots of healthy choices into our grocery list. The kids eat wheat bread all the time now - I just need to switch it to whole grain now. It's just so darn expensive. I buy bread for a little over $1 - wal-mart brand wheat bread. I was looking at the whole grain brands and they are well over $2 nowadays. Crazy! I buy apples and bananas - occasionally other fruits, but they are so high in price and usually taste crappy anymore. I went in to buy some tomatoes the other day and I think there was 6 or 7 different kinds and none of them were the pretty red you look for. They weren't ripe or too ripe. It's disappointing. We have been eating lots of salads with our dinners and I do get a lot of sugar-free and low-fat things. If they taste terrible to me though, they are gone. I want to eat healthier, not kill my taste-buds. I enjoy food and hate to have that ruined in any way.

Our village is having city-wide garage sales this weekend. I really don't know where the advertise when they are doing it so you can get your sale ready. In the nearly 10 years I have been here, I have never seen anything or been informed of it. I go to it, but never have my own. I thought about asking someone, but decided not to. I usually have a garage sale at my Dad's shop in other city. It's more populated and the location is great. I have tons of stuff there to have another sale, just haven't done it. Sad - all that stuff going to waste. I need to get off my butt and do it! I am going to go garage-saling this weekend though. Hubby is supposed to have the weekend off, so that's what we decided. They better not call him in to work. We are thinking about an auction too. We'll have to see.

Yesterday, Montana participated in the Nebraska Kids Fitness and Nutrition Day. I think it was just fourth graders - they came from all surrounding schools and had a day filled with physical activity and nutritional information. He said "Mom, I have never been so full in my life. They made us eat and eat and eat. " I burst out laughing. The boy who eats more than his Dad was full. He said that they had them try tons and tons of healthy snacks all morning, then they ate lunch. He didn't even want a snack after school. I was trying to limit my visits to town each week with gas at $2.79 a gallon and of course I have had to go into town everyday so far!! Yesterday I had to pick Montana up - they got out early and had to get their own transportation. This morning we had to take Adelina's bike to school. The first graders are participating in a bike rodeo today - Now I have to go back in this afternoon to pick it up. It's not far - 12 miles, but it's the time of day Ariana is usually sleeping and I have to pick up the boys at different schools. It's crazy around the schools. I like that they ride the bus - too bad they didn't have luggage racks for this kind of thing. In my dreams, huh?
Hey, a Mom can dream, can't she? Sometimes I wish we lived in the city they go to school in, but it would be so expensive and I would probably not be able to stay home, and hubbies work would be 20 miles away instead of 8. We are fortunate in our tiny village that its cheaper to live and it's halfway between school and work. I am such a whiner I know - it's not like it's tons of miles to go, it's just inconvenient I guess. I like to keep things on a schedule - never stays on it, but I try. We have dinner between 5 and 5:30 each night. The kids go to bed at 8, since they have such a long day from 6:20 am to 4:10 pm. That doesn't leave a lot of free time each day for them or us as a family. You have to squeeze homework, family time, showers/baths, etc into that 3 hours and 50 minutes. That's where a Mom could use a few extra mom's. To have even one more of me would be fanstastic. Again, I dream too much.

Isn't the siggy below cute? Kia gave it to me. Thanks sweetie - I love it. Love watermelon too. I better go. Need to get some housework done before heading to town. Take care.

Rufus, our puppy escaped Monday. We called this show on the radio - Open Line, where people post things to buy, sell, trade, give away and lost pets. We put up some fliers. Called the humane society in the city where my parents live. It's about 11 miles from here. He has escaped many times, but he always sits in the front or backyard and never leaves our property. Guess he changed his mind. We figured that he was taken and lost to us forever. The kids were upset and kept asking if anyone called yet. Yesterday, I received a call from a woman saying that she saw a sign in the bank in the next town - 12 miles away. Our dog was there at the pound. We didn't even know they had a dog pound there. It's a dinky village, similar to ours. We called their Sheriff's department, the village office and then were given two other numbers to call - the pound is not listed anywhere in the phone book. Finally we talk to the guy on his cell phone about Rufus. He has him and we can come and pick him up. It's $20 a day for boarding the dog. That's a total of $60, but he says he will donate some of his time and charge us $40. Hubby went to pick him up. We can't figure out how he got there. Someone had to have taken him to that village. He wouldn't walk that far. He said he had posted signs all over town. The place didn't post it was at the gas station in the village where everyone goes. It's a meeting place of sorts. They have a little eating place in it and it's pretty much the only place to go other than two bar/restaurants/ We don't go to that village often - Hubby does go to that gas station before work sometimes. He works three miles from there. They didn't even bother to call the open line, put any fliers up in the other surrounding towns. If that lady hadn't called we would have never known. The people who have lived here forever seem to think everyone else should know everything. They have this makeshift dog pound in a building we thought was abandoned. The guy was actually going to take him home yesterday and give him to his brother. We were very lucky. I just get so frustrated here. I swear we are in hicksville - don't get me wrong. It's a nice place to raise kids and there are some really nice people. The only thing is I have been here 10 years in June and I still feel like an outsider. If you aren't from here, you are one. It's just very clickish. You have to go 78 miles to a mall - which is a sucky one. 2 hours to go to a good mall, Target, K-Mart, etc. I miss being able to go to the mall and other stores without having to travel forever or having to plan it all out.

I bought a few flowers to plant yesterday. Pansies, Violas and a Salvia plant. I got a few more packs of perennial seeds too. When Ariana naps, I am hoping to do a little yard work. The other three kids are at their Dad's for the weekend and hubby is at work. It's nice and quiet. Exept for Ariana whining - not sure what's up with that - she's been doing it a lot lately. Anyway, I have so many seeds to plant, lol. I need to get them in pots inside first. Don't ask me why I don't have them started already. I am behind this year. Montana, Adelina and I are experimenting. We have planted some seeds right in the ground, and some in pots. One pot we put 6 different flowers in - two seeds of each, just to see what happens. I bought some cedar chips, top soil and peat moss yesteray too. The cats are still messing in one of the flower beds, so I am going to cover them again with peat moss and the cedar. The only problem is I am not done planting in there. I wonder if it would be a pain in the butt to put the cedar down and just move it aside to plant more flowers? I want to go to a nursery to get my other plants. Super Wal-Mart doesn't have the best selection.

The weather has been a little nicer now - windy though. Today we have chances for storms. Yuck. Here is our forecast for the rest of the week:

Sunday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 9am. Some storms could be severe, with large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly sunny, with a high near 65. Breezy, with a north northwest wind 7 to 10 mph increasing to between 21 and 24 mph. Winds could gust as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44. Breezy, with a north northwest wind between 19 and 22 mph becoming light. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Partly cloudy, with a high near 69. Breezy, with a light wind becoming east southeast between 18 and 21 mph. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph. Monday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 9pm. Mostly cloudy and breezy, with a low around 46. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45.

Wednesday: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 41.

Thursday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 63. Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Friday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 66.

:: Friday Friends ::

1. Do you believe net friends can be as close as real life friends? Yes - I had a friend online that was my very best friend for a long time. I felt closer to here than any friend I had ever had. We had a misunderstanding and are no longer friends, which hurts me so much. It happened when I was going through my divorce and we both had a lot going on. If I could fix it I would - but she left the net recently.
2. Do you have a best friend? Or several? No, I don't. Isn't that sad?!? When I left my husband, my second best friend stopped talking to me. I knew her since we were toddlers. She and I went through school together and went through a lot. She is married to my ex-brother-in-law and is my children's aunt. It's very sad, but I wouldn't change it because I am very happy now with my husband.
3. Are you still close to those you went to high school with? Yes. I have a few close friends that are in Texas and Arizona. We have know one another many years.
4. Do you believe a man and a woman can truly be just friends? Yes I do. I have always had male friends. They are easier to be friends with that women - lower level of estrogen,
.

Oh, I rambled on didn't I? Probably more info than you needed to know. I have just been feeling lost lately.

Starz is having a free-view weekend. I am watching Bewitched. It's too funny. I better get going. Have a great weekend.

- We had a beautiful day yesterday. It got to 72º F. We took a long walk, enjoyed some yard work - it was fantastic. Today it's gloomy and 20 degrees cooler. I want to get some more flowers planted - if the weather will cooperate. I bought a big container to plant a tomato plant in. I am just waiting to buy it. Last year I planted Salvia - my Mother-In-Law had some and they attracted butteflies. It was so neat. They are the most hardy plants I have ever had. They survived major heat, freezing cold - I am going to buy some more of those. We planted 100 bulbs last year and only 14 are coming up. That's just wrong! I blame the neighborhood cats. They thought it would be fun to use it as a little box and dig up some of the bulbs. I am so sad - I put a bunch of fertilized top soil and peat moss yesterday. I am hoping they will stay away. I have lots of seeds I want to plant too. Hubby bought me a little pond a while back and now we are going to get a bigger one and do a little landscaping. We have to cut a tree down near the house - whoever planted it years ago must have had a screw loose - it's so close to the house. We are going to put the pond by that and use the stump as part of the landscape - put a flower pot on it or something. I can't wait. It will look so neat. A guy hubby works with is going to give us a lilypad too - I guess they are really expensive. I love flowers and sitting outside enjoying the nice weather - below 85º F. I hate the temps over that. I think when we are done it will look so pretty and peaceful.

Kris gave me the sigtag below. Isn't it great? Thanks again Kris.

- I never got to finish my post yesterday! I hope that my friend Kia had a wonderful birthday yesterday. It's another nice day - They are calling for middle to high 60º s, but it's so nice out already, I have some windows open. I love it. I am so happy to see the sun.

I bought a table to put out on the front patio yesterday. It was marked down and the very last one. I was really happy - now I am going to get some pansies - one of my favorite flowers and plant in a pot to put up on the table. I have lots of seeds to plant - I thought I had one of those flats to start the planting indoors, but I can't find it. I need to see if they sell those anymore. I might just try my luck at planting them right outside. It couldn't be any worse than last year. I started lots inside and only half of the seeds sprouted - only the pumpkins actually made it through the summer. I don't have a green thumb. Adelina started her bachelor button seeds Monday. She received a pot and seeds in her Easter basket. She is so excited. By the end of the week if it stays nice, I am going to go get that tomato plant, my pansies and see if I can find more Salvia. I need to look up Irises. When we moved here 10 years ago, there were already tons of irises planted and they came up so nice each year. The past year, they didn't all bloom - I think I need to transplant some bulbs. I need a landscaper to come and get everything started for me, lol. I don't think the lilacs will bloom - they aren't looking so pretty now after two freezes. I am so sad.

Ok - I better go. I need to get Ariana some lunch. She just got up from her nap. Have a great day!

Today - Sunny...breezy. Highs in the lower 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight - Tonight Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 40s. South winds around 10 mph

Where did the weekend go? Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day. It got up to 62º F. Today is about the same so far. Thankfully the forecaster was wrong on the forecast and we didn't get all that snow - Just some rain and snow that didn't accumulate - melted and left things muddy. I am afraid my lilac bushes won't bloom though - they were getting near it and then we had 2 freezes. My bulbs aren't all coming out now either. I have been waiting to do some planting for fear that this would happen. I hope we are done with that cold weather now.

I am sitting here still in my pajamas. I don't feel like getting ready. I suppose when Ariana takes a nap I will get ready. We go to Mom and Dad's for our Sunday family dinner. I never did get to go to the Humane Society Garage sale yesterday . We did go to the auction. It was just 2 1/2 blocks from our house. The garage sale was in the next town. Hopefully I can make some garage sales coming up. The only thing that makes it hard is Ariana and her goofy sleeping habits. Just when I think I have her back on track it all goes to heck. Ughhhh. I want to go early in the morning and with never knowing when she will be up it makes it just about impossible. I didn't cook last night either - we got a pizza and I even got some donuts. I love donuts and pizza - not together of course, lol. I was in heaven. What a treat!

My son came home from his friends house - with his friend in tow. He is begging me to let him get on the internet and play Runescape. This game they all love - including my Mother. They got her hooked on it. I was looking forward to lots of computer time, but of course someone always needs something and it doesn't happen. I wish I didn't have to sleep - then I could have lots of computer time while they all are sleeping. No one but Ariana was supposed to be here all day until 5 pm. Ok - guess I will go before he drives me crazy saying "Are you done yet?"

See you soon...

the 13th,

I am back to post again - I just realized I never posted about Easter! I ended up taking the kids to an Easter Egg hunt at the grocery store, and I will not go again. It was nice of them to have it, but the 3 and under group had candy thrown all over the floor - nothing in eggs, jut pieces of Brach's candy for them to pick up. The 3-6 group was pretty much the same way. 7-10 group had some eggs, but again the same thing. It was hard to keep track of your kids - it was so crowded. Mine were all in three areas. They got a lot of candy - I will be at least 5 pounds heavier after the candy is gone. Mom made hubby and I an Easter basket too. I love chocolate. The Easter egg hunt they usually have at the big park where my parent's live ended up being held in the city auditorium because the weather was so yucky. Next year it's only Ariana and Adelina - the boys are too old :( and I think we will try the big hunt. I remember them as a child and I want them to have those happy memories. My baby brother, his girlfriend and their little boy came for Easter. It was nice to see them. We had dinner at Mom and Dad's - ham, velveeta cheesy bacon scalloped potatoes, broccoli, corn, rolls, and for dessert we had a jello cake and a coffee cake I brought - it is so yummy. The weather wasn't nice at all for the four days the kids were home so we didn't get to do anything. I was so sad. I wanted to go to feed the ducks and geese and play at the park. I hope we get through this weather and back to the nice Spring weather where we can play outside and take walks. I have to work off the chocolate!!! Hubby brought me home some really pretty spring flowers for Easter. I love flowers. I hope everyone had a nice Easter. I didn't realize it had been so long since I posted! A week is too long.

I just realized it's Friday the 13th! Ooooh - I remember in Junior High and High School my friends and I always had slumber parties and if it was at Debbie's house, we always ended up watching Friday the 13th, Halloween - all those scary movies. Maybe that's why I have never liked them .

I have been squeezing a tiny bit of computer time in here and there. I miss having a long uninterrupted stretch of Mommy computer time. Not sure where it went. I am trying to redecorate some, finish some holiday pages I never finished, get my collected adoptions up, finish a Mother's Day set for my members area, and keep up on my blog. Not happening. Oh well - I am determined to blog and blog hop while Ariana is having a nap - which I might add is too late in the day, but beggars can't be choosers. She fell asleep with a baby doll in her arms - It was so cute and the first time she did that. I should have took a picture.

We have had terrible weather again. It's cold and wet. We had rain and snow today and are still in a Winter Storm Warning through tomorrow. We have 100% chance of precipitation. They had said 5-8 inches, but thankfully it hasn't happened so far. I want my spring back!! Winter is supposed to be over. So many places are just getting hammered. I forgot to check the propane and we ran out the other day - it was so cold. I had to call and ask them to come and deliver some propane and light the water heater. Now I have to pay an extra fee. I could kick myself for not checking. I know better. At least it happened before it got as cold as it is now.

Hubby and I were supposed to go to an auction and the Humane Society garage sale tomorrow - I hope it's not too bad out and they cancel. Of course I won't be able to sit outside at an auction with the baby. I love auctions and garage sales. You can find some treasures, if you look.

We watched Happy Feet the other night - I have to say it is my favorite kids movie right now. I just loved it. I watched Superman Returns the other day when everyone was at work and school. I wasn't sure if I would like it, but I did. I think it's because they finally started to allow Lois and Superman to really have something together. Something always got in the way. I am looking forward to the sequel. It's time for dinner. Gotta go. I will be by to visit asap. Here's my Friday Fun...

:: Furry Friday ::

1. Are you a cat person or a dog person? cat
2. Do you have pets? If so, what are they? 2 dogs, Rufus and Sadie, and one cat - Sox and some fish. We had another cat, Goldie - but she hasn't come back home.
3. Are your pets animals or a part of the family? Right now the dogs are pets - we haven't had the best experience with them. Sox is family though as he's been here for 7 years.
4. If you could have any wild animal as a pet,… and it would be safe and possible, what would it be and why?
A penguin. Jus always liked them - or a Zebra and Giraffe. Maybe because they all seem so laid back compared to some wild animals. Right now though, I never want anymore pets.

Still smoke free!! Oh my - my spring is gone. We had snow! Snow! It's cold and yucky here. It was in the 20s today. The kids have spring break - it's weird here - It's Friday and Monday, so they have a four day weekend. They have other little breaks during the year, so I like it because it's spread out. We don't take big vacations or anything. Anyway, so they have no school and the older three aren't going to their Dad's house. I wanted to take them to this park nearby to feed the geese and ducks, go play at the park, take walks, get out of the house. Yeah right. UGHHH!! Saturday we are going to go to an Easter Egg hunt in a grocery store, . They have it each year. It supposed to be lots of fun and it's inside, so we won't freeze our patooties off. That works for me. Here is my Friday Fun...

:: Fly Away Friday ::

If you could fly away,…

1. To any tropical island, where would it be and why? What would you do there? I never have given this a lot of thought - I'm not big on Tropical vacations, probably because I am poor and have never gone on one, lolol - but I saw a Royal Carribean cruise that made stops at Ocho Rios, Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman; Cozumel, Mexico; and thought that would be a neat way to do it. I would like to see the locals - customs, arts and crafts - I have to shop of course. It would be neat to see so many places at once I think.
2. To any cultural location, where would it be and why? What would you do there?
Italy. My father was born there and I have family I have never met still there. I would love to see where he grew up, enjoy the food, countryside - I think it would be fascinating to see and take it all in
3. To any adventure vacation, where would it be and why? What would you do there? Trip to Alaska. I have always wanted to visit. It sounds so beautiful and the sites amazing.
4. What would be your ultimate fly away vacation?
Europe. The United States, Canada - I want to see so many places. It's hard to really say one place. How about a trip around the World - Italy, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, France - I want to see it all. My husband was stationed in Germany at one time and has told me so many stories about all the wonderful places in Europe he saw. He likes to go off the beaten track and not just see what the tourist traps show you. I also want to see Ireland as I am part Irish and would love to try to find out some information on my family. To go to any of these places and see the local customs, the beautiful views, taste the local cuisine all over the world - it would be amazing. Better go buy my lottery ticket.

I better go - Ariana hasn't been sleeping well and I just got her to bed. I need some sleep. I hope everyone has a great Easter Weekend!

Still smoke free!! Thank you to Kellie, Cris, Annette, Annette H., Wanda Lucia, Stumbeline, Suzanne, Marge, Del, Leila, Kia & Zeno, Susan, and Stephanie for the wonderful spring/Easter gifts, awards, siggies - you are all so sweet, I appreciate it so very much, and I have all the goodies up in my Easter and Spring Cottages. The links are on the right side of the sitemap. I am having a hard time deciding on the sig tags to use in here and in my emails, . I hadn't been online for several days before today - Last night I couldn't sleep, which makes no sense since I haven't had much for days, but I got up near midnight and got on and checked emails. I had tons, lol. I am now trying to post and do a little blog hopping. I have so much I want/need to do, but don't want too. and my little part-time job. I want to sit in my pjs. Tomorrow I will.

I am getting things together for the kids Easter baskets. I don't get them much candy anymore. They get goodies from their Dad's family, my family, school - I got them some things they will use and like. Kites, my oldest, Giuseppe loves mechanical pencils, lead for them, pens, gum, Reeses Pieces, and I got him and Montana these little cheap mini basketball hoops. Montana loves to draw - got him a little drawing pad, skittles, this mini poster coloring thing, gum, and I need to get the boys a few more things - have to make sure they get the same amount. Don't want to hear any whining. Adelina gets 2 Junie B Jones books she wanted, a little flower pot and seeds, pencils and a pen, and M&Ms. Ariana is too small to care much, so I got her a little Dora the Explorer notebook - she loves to write and color, some flashcards - she loves any cards, and hubby got her this Disney Princess book etch-a-sketch or something. I can't remember exactly, and M&Ms. Instead of baskets for the girls, I got them these neat buckets. Adelina - Disney Princess and Ariana - Dora The Explorer. Both girls have Disney Princess rooms - wish I had done Ariana's in Dora the Explorer. Anyway, a lot of the goodies were cheap - but it's so hard to buy for the boys anymore. They want video games, candy, footballs, etc. It adds up with four kids. I will have to look around the store for something for them. The girls are so easy to buy for. I need to get my nephew something. He, my brother and his girlfriend will be coming from Colorado for the Easter weekend. I can't wait. He's 3 1/2 and now that they moved, I never see him :(

Yesterday Adelina, Ariana and I took a 45 minute walk around our village. Yes, technically that is what it is called. They say there are 594 people - well the sign says that. I told you we were in the boondocks. Anyway, it was so nice out - high 70s! Now for the next week it's to be in the 50s and maybe even 40s. Hopefully it isn't windy everyday so we can walk. I need to lose some more weight before summer - I want to fit back into the swimming suit I wore before having Ariana. I have a feeling we will be at the pool a lot - if it's as hot as they say it will be.

This morning my boys were just bickering and being mean to one another. They both got extra chores today. They mouthed off and got more chores - I was ready to scream by the time they left for school. That's too much drama first thing in the morning. If this keeps up, I will never have to
and I hate to !! I told them that's why I had kids - to be my slaves, lol. They didn't think I was funny.

Ok - I had better get out of here. Should have showered before Ariana woke up. Maybe I still can. Have super
.
